Designed for children in Years 5, 6 and 7, the box includes 150 colourfully illustrated A4 cards covering a wide range of genres, topics and text types across both fiction and non-fiction. This gives children plenty of variety to explore while helping them apply comprehension skills in different contexts. With links to other curriculum areas too, the texts offer meaningful reading practice that feels broad, interesting and purposeful.
On the back of each card, children will find questions to answer in a multiple-choice format. These are designed across three levels of challenge and assess 12 different comprehension skills, helping children practise carefully, think critically and build understanding at their own pace. Separate answer cards make it easy for children to check their work independently, supporting self-assessment and helping them take more ownership of their progress.
The set is thoughtfully organised into 15 colour-coded sections with 10 cards in each, making it simple to navigate and use in the classroom. An included teacher’s guide offers helpful support around question types and comprehension strategies, along with mini posters that can be displayed to reinforce key teaching points. There is also an individual assessment sheet, making it easier to identify each child’s needs and guide them towards the most suitable level.
